Sourcefire FirePOWER - bigger, stronger, faster

NSS Labs, the premier independent test authority for the security industry, has released new product analysis reports for three FirePOWER appliances - the 8120, 8250 and 8260 models. 

The results are spectacular! Sourcefire is the first vendor to achieve the best results in NSS Labs independent IPS test for four consecutive years. In this year's reports Sourcefire surpassed the past results to establish new record benchmarks in security effectiveness, performance and total cost of ownership. Of course we are proud of being a Sourcefire partner!

Security effectiveness

Sourcefire detected 98.9% of threats and were also evasion free. Until now, no one has even reached these figures.

Performance

The results of all three products were consistently 170% of rated throughput. For example, the 8260, which is rated at 20Gbps, tested at 34Gbps of inspected throughput when measured against a real world mix of traffic.  This consistency is important as it demonstrates the continued commitment to providing appliances that can both scale and grow as network security needs change.

Total cost of ownership

NSS Labs talks about the importance of value in their reports. The TCO calculations in these reports are the lowest ever achieved.
